Geoff Bennett is a prominent American broadcast journalist, best known for co-anchoring the PBS NewsHour alongside Amna Nawaz.
Bennett graduated with honors from Morehouse College in 2002, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. It was during his senior year that he secured an internship at ABC News, where he had the incredible opportunity to be mentored by the experienced journalist Carole Simpson, who was then the weekend anchor for ABC World News Tonight.
That internship proved to be a launching pad for his journalism career, leading him to a position as an off-air production assistant for World News Tonight at ABC News in New York. He quickly advanced to become an associate producer.
In 2007, Bennett made his way to NPR in Los Angeles, stepping into the role of digital producer and editor for News & Notes, while also making regular on-air appearances. Just two years later, he moved to Washington, D.C., to work as an editor for Weekend Edition.
